Children Emergency Resource Center - Shelter
The LeFlore County Youth Services Emergency Youth Shelter provides a safe, supportive environment for youth ages 10 to 18 during times of crisis. Our newly built, 8-bed facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, offering temporary and emergency shelter to children facing uncertainty and instability.
In addition to shelter and meals, youth may receive counseling services through LeFlore County Youth Services, Inc. These services are tailored to support healing, emotional stability, and long-term recovery—often serving as a turning point in a young person’s life.
Crisis Support for Families
Parents may access the shelter for their child for up to 72 hours during a crisis situation. This short-term stay can provide a vital pause—allowing families time to de-escalate, reflect, and begin resolving difficult circumstances. Our goal is to create a home-like atmosphere where youth feel safe, respected, and cared for.
Licensed & Monitored for Quality Care
The shelter is licensed by the Oklahoma Department of Human Services for Child Care and is regularly monitored by the Office of Juvenile Affairs. We meet all standards for safety and care, ensuring that every child receives the support they need.
Activities & Enrichment
Beyond basic needs, we offer structured and supervised activities to help youth feel engaged and valued. These include:
•
Board Games or Video games
•
Puzzles and movie nights
•
Outdoor games
