Who We Are
Founded in 1974, LeFlore County Youth Services, Inc. (LCYS) was established as a nonprofit organization with a clear and urgent mission: to divert youth from the juvenile justice system and provide meaningful alternatives that promote healthy development. From its earliest days, LCYS has stood as a beacon of hope for children and families in LeFlore and Haskell Counties.
What We Do Best
At the heart of LCYS is a commitment to empowering youth and families through a wide range of services, including:
• Emergency shelter for abused, neglected, or homeless youth
• Counseling and behavioral health support for over 2,000 individuals annually
• Prevention education through school-based programs and community outreach
• Crisis intervention and case management
• Tobacco-free initiatives in partnership with TSET
• Programs for at-risk youth, including first-offender and juvenile system support
Every program is designed to meet youth where they are — emotionally, developmentally, and situationally — and help them move toward safety, stability, and success.
What We Care About Most
LCYS is driven by a deep belief in the dignity and potential of every child. We care most about:
• Creating safe, nurturing environments for youth in crisis
• Ensuring access to services regardless of ability to pay
• Promoting emotional resilience and positive behaviors
• Building community partnerships that strengthen families and prevent future harm
We don’t just serve youth — we advocate for them, walk alongside them, and help them rewrite their stories.
